StealthText Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-04-13
These terms govern your use of the StealthText app (“the App”), published by Almost to Code (“we”, “us”).
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any iOS device you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and these terms. You may not rent, lease, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit the App or its source material.
What StealthText does — and doesn’t do
The App hides short text messages inside ordinary-looking text using zero-width Unicode characters. This is steganography, not encryption. Any party who knows the technique can extract the hidden text from a shared message. Do not use StealthText to protect information that would cause real-world harm if disclosed. The App is not a secure communication tool and is not represented as one.
In-app purchases (Tip Jar)
The App is free. Inside Settings, three optional non-consumable in-app purchases are available as tips to support development. Tips are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. They are one-time, non-refundable (except as required by law or Apple’s refund policy), and carry no entitlement other than a “Supporter” indicator in Settings. Tipping is voluntary — the App is fully functional without any purchase.
To restore tips on a new device, open Settings in the App and tap “Restore Purchases.”
No warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or iOS version.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of privacy, or harm resulting from the disclosure of a message you chose to share. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is capped at the amount you have paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, which for non-tipping users is zero.
Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our privacy policy, which explains what data the App does and does not collect. In short: none of your data leaves your device.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be published at this URL with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California.
